Sweet Basil Essential Oil comes from the very aromatic herb that is prevalent in French and Italian cooking. It’s leaves are soft and highly aromatic, and it can grow up to 2 feet with purple flowering tops. In folk medicine throughout the centuries, Sweet Basil Essential Oil has been used as a digestive aid, cleansing and purifying the body and mind, and for easing muscle aches and pains. It’s rich content of Monoterpene alcohols (monoterpenes), specifically Linalool, which distinguishes it as the Linalool chemotype, provides anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and calming activities. The other chemical constituents have been shown to be effective antioxidants and antimicrobials.
